When a legendary Westport 112 gets a fresh new look that perfectly matches her powerful name, the results speak for themselves.
We sat down with Chanel Coontz, Founder and Lead Designer of Neosage, to explore the thoughtful transformation of the 2006 Westport 112 superyacht — formerly known as INDIGO and now proudly sailing as LILA CUY.
Why the Westport 112 Remains One of the Most Successful Superyacht Series Ever Built
With over 70 hulls delivered since the early 2000s, the Westport 112 is widely regarded as the benchmark American-built entry-level superyacht. Hull #7723 (a 2006 model built at Westport’s Pacific Northwest shipyard) has carried several names over the years: ANGEL WINGS, SOUTHERN STAR, INDIGO, and now LILA CUY.
Despite her strong bones and timeless exterior, the interior no longer reflected the calm, contemporary energy her name suggested. The owner turned to Chanel Coontz and her team at Neosage for a smart, high-impact refresh that would honor the yacht’s heritage while bringing her firmly into the modern era.
The Challenge: Traditional Tones That Felt “Dry” and Dated
Step aboard a typical yacht from that era and you’d often find heavy gold accents, warm yellows, and safe neutral upholstery. On INDIGO, those classic elements had begun to feel dusty and disconnected from the serene, sophisticated vibe the name “Indigo” naturally evokes — depth, clarity, calm control, and quiet luxury.
Chanel’s vision? A targeted evolution rather than a full demolition.
“Our goal wasn’t to strip her down and start over. We wanted intentional changes that would create significant visual impact with minimal downtime and disruption.”
— Chanel Coontz, Founder & Lead Designer, Neosage

The Bold Move: Introducing Rich, Saturated Indigo
The transformation began with color. A deep, luxurious indigo was introduced across soft furnishings, instantly highlighting the warmth and beauty of the original woodwork while breathing fresh life into every space.

“While classic tan and neutral upholstery are staples aboard most yachts, the space felt dry — almost cloaked in tones of dust. My immediate instinct was that it needed a deep shade of blue. A rich indigo would not only highlight the beauty of the woodwork but breathe life into the space, adding vibrancy and depth.”
— Chanel Coontz

The result? A cooler, more composed, and unmistakably contemporary interior that now perfectly embodies her namesake.
Day Head Transformation: Where Ocean Inspiration Meets Precision Design
Nowhere is the refresh more striking than in the Day Head.
Originally a collection of disconnected shapes and finishes that felt rigid and dated, the space was completely reimagined with inspiration drawn directly from the sea.
- Smoother, organic edges replace harsh lines
- A faucet shaped like a gentle wave
- A basin that flows seamlessly with the cabinetry’s curve
Every detail was considered — from the spout echoing the mirror’s frame to the artwork above that appears to pour directly into the basin. The result is a unified, flowing moment of movement and stillness: a true homage to the ocean.

Respecting Heritage While Elevating the Experience
Throughout the project, Chanel and the Neosage team prioritized refinement over replacement. By working with the yacht’s original craftsmanship instead of discarding it, they preserved her pedigree while raising the overall ambience to meet the standards of today’s most discerning owners and charter guests.
Today, LILA CUY (ex-INDIGO) feels like a completely different yacht — cool, confident, and effortlessly luxurious. She’s an oasis at sea that honors her past while embracing a brighter, more vibrant future.
